TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“You shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace...”
(Isaiah 55:12, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

The word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek word “entheos.” “Theos” is God. When you’re enthusiastic, it simply means you are full of God. When you get up in the morning excited about your future, recognizing that day is a gift and go out with a spring in your step, pursuing your goals, passionate about life, then God will breathe in your direction. Studies tell us that people who are enthusiastic get better breaks. They’re promoted more often. That’s not a coincidence. When you’re full of passion, you have the favor of God.
Remember, God didn’t breathe His life into us to drag through the day. He didn’t create us in His image, crown us with His favor, equip us with His power to just go through the motions of life. You may have had some setbacks, the wind may have been taken out of your sail, but this is a new day! God wants to breathe new life back into you. If you’ll get your fire and passion back, the wind will start blowing once again. When you’re in agreement with God, He can cause the winds of favor to shift in your direction!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for another day, another opportunity to praise You and pursue the dreams You’ve given me. Help me to stay filled with Your joy, which is strength, so I can serve You with my whole heart in everything that I do in Jesus’ name. Amen

The Word for Today
How to Graduate with Highest Honours (1)

'There is in store for me the crown...' 2 Timothy 4:8 NIV
Do you remember the feeling you had when your name was called to receive your college diploma or university degree and you heard the words, 'Congratulations on your graduation.' You did it! All your effort paid off. Your accomplishment had finally been acknowledged. Now, multiply that feeling a thousand times over! Picture yourself entering the presence of the One who will award you the crown of righteousness while the saints of all the ages look on. Paul anticipated graduating with highest honors: 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown...' (2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV) For the next few days, let's talk about how you can graduate this life with highest honors.

By living an unselfish life. There's no greater obstacle to the life that God designed you to live, than selfishness. Ego and self-promotion pollute our souls and destroy our relationships. Paul understood the need to dethrone ego. 'I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.' (Galatians 2:20 NIV) This reflected: (a) A change of values. Paul once lived to persecute Christians; now he says, 'For to me to live is Christ...' (Philippians 1:21 NIV) (b) A change of ambition. The old Paul, whose goal was to be a recognized champion of religion, says, 'But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.' (Philippians 3:7 NIV) (c) A change of mind. The brilliant philosopher, Pharisee and lawyer renounces his self-seeking ways and writes, 'Think the same way that Christ Jesus thought.' (Philippians 2:5 CEV)

Morning Devotion

Friday, 5 July 2013
"...blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out,and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me".(Mark 10 vs 46-47). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.

One issue that confined Bartimaeus was his blindness. He was limited by his lack of sight. He may have desired a better tomorrow but he couldn't see. He may have wanted good opportunities, but he couldn't see. He may have wanted an encounter with Jesus, but he couldn't see. If only he could see, there would have been better things he could do apart from begging.

Notice carefully, that even though Bartimaeus couldn't see,Scriptures said he heard about Jesus. When he couldn't see, what he heard took him out of his situation. What he heard made him capture a fleeting opportunity. What he heard terminated his negative circumstances.

Friend, you may not have seen where God is taking you to;You may not have also seen what the future holds for you. You may not have seen the results from your efforts. You may not have seen what you want to see.

Today,God says, you may not have seen what you want, but if you heard it,it will come to pass. If you heard a word from God,hold on to it;it is the key that will unlock the next level. What you hear from God is a seed that will yield a heavy harvest.

Hold on to God's Word! Declare it! Shout it aloud! Write it on the tablets of your heart!

Don't focus on what you are yet to see. God says, focus on the Word that you heard, and it will raise you.

Pray with me,"Lord,I choose to focus on what I have heard from you,may it change my story in Jesus name".

Have a Restful Saturday!
