Dream Boldly

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go”
(Joshua 1:9, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When you look out into your future, what do you see? What are the dreams and desires that you hold close to your heart?

So many people start with bold dreams, but then opposition comes. Life doesn’t turn out the way they planned. They lose a loved one or encounter difficulty they didn’t anticipate. Today, if that’s you, I want to remind you that the Creator of the universe designed you with specific gifts and talents that no one else has. He has you on this planet for a specific purpose. When you commit your life to Him, He promises to be with you wherever you go. Even though some things in life may have caught you by surprise, they didn’t catch God by surprise. His good plan for your life remains. You can trust Him because He loves you with an everlasting love, and He doesn’t want to see you settling for anything less than His very best.

I want to encourage you to be bold, be strong and be courageous. Put aside the past and lift up your eyes to Jesus. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. Live boldly and dream boldly so you can embrace the good things He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, today I come boldly to You. I open my heart and mind to Your Word. Fill me with Your strength today; fill me with Your hope, and keep me close to You always as I put You first in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Let your light shine!!

Sunday, 29 September 2013

"The government of a nation is a direct mirror, or reflection, of those who live in it. Therefore, it is not accurate to refer to “those in power,” as you are wont to do, for they can only exist as a result of the choices of each and every one of you. Such a mindset is an indication that you have given away your power! THE UNIVERSE WILL RESPOND TO YOU INDIVIDUALLY, NO MATTER WHAT THE OTHERS ARE DOING. Even if there are policemen on every corner, you may wave cheerfully to them, or rant and rave and cause yourself upset.

You cannot control the actions of another! You can, however, control how the universe, and the people in it, respond to you. We tell you that YOU CAN FIND HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY NO MATTER THE CONDITIONS! (big wave of love here, and complete certainty)

Once you begin to focus exclusively on well–being, you will find your life changing for the better in magical ways.

Not only that, but when you change your focus exclusively to well–being, you influence the environment around you. You become a lighthouse, a beacon shining your light into the world. The way to truly change the world for the better is by setting an example. You have no idea how powerful your light can be! One person broadcasting a powerful signal of well–being is more powerful than a million disconnected ones. Believe it or not, one person shining his or her light may influence the million and do so much more quickly than you can imagine."

4 Health Benefits of Salmon

Sunday, 29 September 2013

Salmon health benefits range from strengthening your muscles and heart to reducing your chances of developing some diseases. Studies have shown that consumption of the fatty acid rich salmon can help you live longer and be healthier while you do it.

Muscle and Tissue Benefits

The protein in salmon is easy for people to digest and absorb into their bodies. Salmon does not have cancer causing substances in it that some other protein sources do. Proteins which are also referred to as amino acids and are vital to the health of your entire body. Salmon’s main health benefit is that it is an excellent good fat or Omega-3 fatty acids. Vitamins A, B and D as well as the minerals calcium, iron, phosphorus and selenium are in salmon.

Heart Health

The above mentioned Omega-3 fatty acids in salmon will help lower your cholesterol. Usually the first thing doctors recommend after a heart attack is to lower your bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides levels. While salmon is lowering you bad cholesterol it is also raising your good cholesterol (HDL). Salmon can also help repair heart damage and strengthen the heart muscles. Salmon also helps lower your blood pressure and even prevent hardening of your arteries which will lessen your chances of having a heart attack.

Brain and Nerve Benefits

Those Omega-3 fatty acids help your brain work better and improve your memory. In conjunction with Vitamins A and D, amino acids and selenium those acids also protect your nervous system from the deteriorating effects of aging. This makes salmon work as a natural anti depressant. Alzheimer’s and Parkinson diseases are two of the biggest fears facing you as you age. The consumption of salmon has been shown to lower your risk of developing those diseases. Omega-3 acids also help prevent blood clots which can lessen your chances of having strokes.

Miscellaneous Benefits

The health benefits of eating salmon also include speeding up your metabolism. This facilitates your sugar absorption rate and can lower your blood sugar level. Which in turn lowers your risk of developing diabetes.
The Omega-3 acids and amino acids help prevent macular degeneration. This is an age-related condition that affects older people that can result in vision damage and loss.
If you want shiny hair, bright eyes and healthy skin salmon consumption can do provide that as well. Credit those Omega-3 fatty acids and selenium in the salmon for that.
Four ounces of wild salmon gives you a full day’s required amount of Vitamin D. that same amount of salmon also gives you more than half of the B12, niacin and selenium that you need daily. In addition, that four ounce serving of salmon gives you almost thirty grams of protein. That is more than half of the Food and Drug Administration’s recommended daily amount.

Conclusion

Salmon’s health benefits are far too many to ignore. It is power packed with disease fighting acids, minerals and vitamins. So whether you bake it, broil it, grill it or eat it raw salmon is a powerful addition to your healthy lifestyle.

How to Find the Right Partner or Spouse

Saturday, 28 September 2013

Finding the right partner or spouse is not like finding the right person to help you survive a lonely summer -- it means finding a person that you can see yourself growing old with and loving thirty, forty, or fifty or more years down the line. Choosing the person you want to marry or commit to forever is serious business, and it demands a lot of forethought, responsibility, and honesty. But once you've found that special person, all of your hard work will be worth it and you can get ready for a lifetime of happiness. If you want to know how to find the right partner or spouse, just follow these steps.

1) Prayer. This is the first and most important step before choosing a partner, ask God to direct your path to the person He has set aside for you.

2) Love yourself. Seriously -- loving yourself before you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with is the easiest way to ensure that you'll be committing yourself to that person for the right reasons. You don't have to be 100% satisfied with yourself, but if you're unhappy with who you are, you're at risk of getting together with someone just because he or she makes you feel better about yourself

3) Be (reasonably) happy being alone. Let's face it -- being single when all of your friends are happily dating or married is no picnic. You may want love more than anything in the world, and it's natural for you to feel lonely or sad if you can't find it. But part of loving yourself is loving spending time solo, and finding ways to stay interested and excited about life without a significant other. This will make you feel even better when that special person comes along!
If you're miserable by yourself, then you will be too easily swayed by the first person who comes along and gives you something to do. Don't mistake companionship for love

4) Get some experience. If you find your first love when you're sixteen, then you are a rare and lucky breed. However, most people do not in fact marry their first, or second, or even their fourth boyfriend or girlfriend. Dating more people lets you understand the endless ways that a relationship can work, and can make you see that there are so many forms and dynamics that a relationship can have.

5) Don't settle. Not settling is related to loving yourself, loving being alone, and having some experience. People settle all too often because they find someone who makes them feel less alone and loved, even if it's not in the right way. Another reason people settle is because they've been with the same person for five years and realize they "might as well" get married because that's what everyone else is doing or because they've been together for so long that it's the only logical step.

Overcoming The Giant Of Sexual Sin (1) - Eph. 5:3-4, 1thess. 4:3-4

Saturday, 28 September 2013

Sexual purity is the least consecration that God demands if a man is going to stand in His presence or handle anything for God. Since this is the least demand of God for purity therefore, a man is not pure until he is sexually pure. The priest told David that for a man to eat of the show (hallowed) bread, the young men must have kept themselves 'at least' from women (1Samuel 21:4). This means that there are things of God that a man will not partake of for as long as there is sexual sin in the life of that man.

What is sexual sin? Sexual sin is any act, form or mode of sex outside a legitimate marriage   covenant.   It   is   called   fornication   between   an unmarried brother and sister (man and woman) while it is called adultery between a married man and woman.  Sexual sin is not just having intercourse. It includes every other activity/attitude that leads to sex. It involves any act either directly or indirectly that stirs up the emotions and sexual feelings between two persons towards each other. The deeds may actually lead to intercourse or not but it is still a sexual sin. These include masturbation, sexual fantasy, sexual words or oral sex e.t.c Also sexual sin can involve an individual alone when he/she engages his/her mind, thoughts or body to arouse sexual feeling.

Different acts of sexual sin
1.    Seductive dressing and appearances:  The people of the world dress for attraction, lust   and seduction. Dresses that show the part sexual part of the body like navel, cleavage, buttocks e.t.c they are seductive in nature and lead to sexual sin. Avoid them as a child of God.
2.   Pornography: Exposure to sex films, novels, articles, pictures and all sort of naked viewing.
3.   Sexual practices like romancing, pecking, kissing, hugging and fondling openly or secretly.
4.   Oral sex.
5.   Sexual words.
6.   Masturbation: This involves playing with the sexual part of the body with an aim to arouse the body.

Note  that  you  cannot  say  because  you  have  not  gone  into  the intercourse part does not mean you have not committed sexual sin. Some  people  say  I  have  not  committed  the  real  act.  No, don’t be deceived.
What sexual sin does for a man?

1.    It strips a man of his glory and strength (Gen. 3:7-8)
2.    It reduces a man to a piece of bread (Prov. 6:26-32)
3.    It opens a man to satanic attacks and operations.
4.    It opens doors for strange covenants and curses.
5.    Negative ancestral forces are activated against a man.
6.    It results in demonic oppressions.
7.    It reduces a man’s destiny, making him unfit for the highest calling.
8.    It breaks down the potency of your spirit and calling.

Beloved, if you have kept yourself from sexual sin until now, keep doing that and do it well till the end and if you are living in any form of sexual sin, let the Lord help you out of it. The pain that sexual sin will bring to your future is far greater than the pleasure that you will derive from it. Sin and especially sexual sin will make you to pay for more that you are prepared to pay.

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace to keep myself from every form of sexual sin and to keep my vessel in holiness in Jesus’ name.

Which Righteous Man Do You Want To Be?

Friday, 27 September 2013
Which Righteous Man Do You Want To Be?

Genesis 24:1
1Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.

The Bible says that Abraham was righteous. But do you know that his nephew Lot was righteous too? (2 Peter 2:7–8) Yet, both men lived very different lives. Although they both lived under God’s grace some 400 years before the law was given, Abraham was very blessed, whereas Lot lost a lot!

Both men had large herds and flocks. When their herdsmen started quarrelling over space, Abraham took the initiative to make peace. He even let Lot pick the lands that he wanted. Both men were righteous, but one was more gracious than the other.

Lot picked the well-watered plain of Jordan, where the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were. He dwelt there and pitched his tent as far as Sodom. Eventually, he lived in Sodom. Now, Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible represent a sinful lifestyle. Some Christians think, “Since I am righteous by faith and under God’s grace, I can live a sinful lifestyle.”

Well, let’s learn from Lot. He first saw Sodom, then his feet walked toward it and finally he went into it. I like what a great man of God said: “Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you want to pay.” What did Lot end up paying?

He was captured when four kings plundered Sodom and Gomorrah. And even after Abraham rescued him with the help of God, he did not learn his lesson. He went back to Sodom. Some Christians live from one bail-out to another. God delivers them from, say, debt, and they go right back to borrowing money or gambling! Sodom and Gomorrah were eventually destroyed. Lot escaped with only the clothes on his back and even lost his wife in the process.

Beloved, you are the righteousness of God in Christ. When you truly understand what Jesus did to make you the righteousness of God, it will cause you to fall out of love with sin and fall in love with God. Then, it will not be hard to have a heart for God, as Abraham did, and like Abraham, be blessed in all things!

Vision for Increase

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.”
(Proverbs 29:18, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God wants His people to be the most blessed! He wants His people to constantly increase so they can live as an example of His goodness. But in order to partake of everything He has in store for us, we have to be open to what He wants to do in our lives. We have to have a vision for increase. If you’re not expecting favor, or if you are just satisfied with where you are, then you will live below your privileges. But if you will get a vision for increase, a vision for who you are as a child of the Most High God and what He wants to do in your life, you’ll see supernatural opportunities, favor and increase in your life. When you look for what God is doing, when you follow His commands, you won’t just be “average” or “good enough.” No, as a child of the Most High, you are the most blessed.

Today, take time to focus your heart and mind on God and His promises. Meditate on His Word and ask Him to increase your capacity to receive His blessings. Get a vision for increase, embrace His promises, and boldly move forward in the good things God has in store for you.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, today I choose to set my mind and focus on You. I choose to look for what You want to do in and through me. I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes or actions that would hold me back from You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

3 Very Simple Steps That Will Help You to Be a Lot Less Nervous in Social Situations.

Thursday, 26 September 2013

“Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.”
Benjamin Franklin

One very common question I have gotten over the years goes something like this:

“I always get nervous before a date/meeting/social gathering and that holds me back from being my true and best self and from doing and getting what I want. What can I do to overcome this?”

This is an issue that used to hold me back too in the past and I have more experience with it than I would have ever wanted.

Back when I was still single I often got quite nervous before a date.

And before that, when I didn’t have a date at all in a long time, I got nervous before most social situations.

It was no fun.

Things weren’t hopeless though. And today I would like to share three small habits and steps that, simply put, totally changed my life.

Step 1: Slow down.

A few minutes before you step into the meeting, job interview or date that makes you nervous slow down.

Walk slower to the meeting place. Move slower.

Then stop.

Step 2: Breathe.

Stand still or sit down for a minute. And then just breathe. Take a little deeper breaths than usual.

Make sure you breathe with your belly and not with your chest (a common problem when people get nervous).

Focus on just your slow in-breaths and out-breaths for a minute or two.

This will calm your mind and body down, make it easier to think normally again and that singular focus will draw you back into this moment again instead of leaving you lost in the thoughts of past failures or future worries that can be so destructive.

Step 3: Assume rapport.

Assuming rapport means that just before you met someone you pretend and think to yourself that you are meeting one of your best friends.

Doing this will allow you to naturally slip into a much more relaxed, comfortable, confident and enjoyable emotional state and frame of mind. In this frame of mind the conversation and smiles tends to flow naturally, without much thinking.

Just like with your best friends.

It is, in my experience, a very simple habit to adopt but at the same time it is also an incredibly powerful habit for tapping into your best social self.

By using these three steps over and over they will become habits that are easy to use. And over time as you get good results in social situations the old normal of feeling nervous will be replaced by a new normal.

A normal where you are – at least most of the time – relaxed and confident in social situations because all your recent experiences put together have changed how you view yourself and what you expect on dates, in meetings and other such situations.

And at this point you will only have to use these three steps from time to time socially.

He Knows!!

...i do not know how..1kings 3:7
...the Lord knows how...2peter 2:9

Bible study 2Peter 2:1-15
I want to nail these two phrases together although seperated by the time and context of utterance. I wish to show you the big gap between our ignorance and Gods perfect wisdom, between our worldliness and his Godliness, between our impossiblities and his possibilities, between our inabilities and his abilities and between our 'cannots' and his 'cans'. Inspite of all our wealth, knowledge and skills, most times like solomon we are confronted with questions, circumstances and challenges that bring us to a point of 'not knowing how' . Solomon told God "i do not know how to go in or come out". "I do not know my way through this or out of this. You may not know the way or decisions to take but God knows. Someone wrote a song: "and every hour, in perfect peace, i'll sing, He knows, He knows..." Though you dont know how to face the burdens of tomorrow the Lord knows the way out of it, just trust him. As we rest on him, He makes our path plain.
Perhaps, you have lost a dear one and you saying; I do not know how to face the long days.., He knows how you will survive. For all your "i dont knows" God is saying to you "I know, trust me" The Lord will show you a way out of that dilemma, He will lead you out of your fears and show you the way to take, you will not be stuck on the way, for He will solve the puzzle today, and show you the light of His righteosness. He that knows all will show you  a way out today in Jesus name.
Have a blessed day.

Apostolic decree: there is a way out for you.

Fix Your Mind

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is kind, if there is any virtue, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things.”
(Philippians 4:8, NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

What you think about determines the quality and direction of your life. Naturally, people who think positive, uplifting thoughts have happier, healthier, longer lives. They are less stressed, more vibrant and enjoy better sleep. That’s why the scripture encourages us to think on good things — things that are true, noble and lovely. Some translations say to “fix your mind” on them. When you fix your mind on noble things, you close the door to the negative voices and open your heart to allow God to work in your life.

Choose today to fix your mind on good things. Do whatever you need to in order to keep those good thoughts before you. Write them on note cards and put them in a place where you can see them. Confess God’s promises over your life and declare His blessing on a daily basis. As you fix your mind on the goodness of God, you will rise higher in every area of your life. You will be filled with His peace and victory, and you’ll see every dream and desire in your heart come to pass.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I choose to fix my mind on noble things. I choose thoughts of peace and victory. Fill my heart with Your goodness that I may glorify You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Colossians 3: 12-14

Kindness is a practical expression of love. When you are a kind and loving person, the first place it shows is in your family and then in the church. Do not forget to entertain strangers because you sometimes entertain angels just like Abraham did when he entertained three strangers (Hebrews 13: 1-3). Afterwards, God gave the exact time his child would be born.

Abraham connected with his destiny through kindness and barrenness was terminated from his and Sarah’s lives. He did not know it was God and angels when he compelled them to stop to rest. Afterwards, God felt He had to intimate him about His plans of going to Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18). Many people have missed out on opportunities to encounter God when they did not show kindness because they felt the people were undeserving. Our attitudes would be different if we realise that God could show up in the form of a human being in need.

Love is action. The measure of love is sacrifice. God came to the earth in human form and laid down His life for us. It is time to show God’s kind of love. (John 3:16; 1 John 3: 16-18). Kindness is one of the characteristics of a true Christian. Material blessings are not the greatest proofs of showing a blessed person because even crooks have great material wealth. Yes, God blesses us when we obey Him but the distinguishing factor between Christians and unbelievers is the quality of their character. Without God, you are incapable of loving unconditionally (Romans 5:5). Many of us have suffered painful experiences so that all we have to give is pain. Thus, cycles of oppression are created because we feel others have to go through the same pain we have had to endure. When you become a Christian, God takes you out of such destructive cycles of cruelty, self-centredness and harshness. If you do not have the excellent qualities listed in 2 Peter 1:5-10, your life will not be different from when you were an unbeliever. You cannot love and fail.

When you are kind, you have a benevolent disposition; you are humane, gentle, mild and sensitive to other people’s feelings. Any fool can criticise but it takes a mature person to try to understand why a person is acting in a particular way. When you put yourself in another person’s position, you will be less critical. A lot of the time, the people who hurt us do so because they are hurting. Remember, hurting people, hurt people. Repaying them with more hurt makes the situation worse. What they need is healing, encouragement and understanding. When Jesus was being crucified, He didn’t ask that the people should be punished; instead He asked God to forgive them. Rise beyond the pain, hatred and disappointment. Shine God’s love into people’s lives so that He has the opportunity to change your life, the lives of the recipients of your love and by extension, our world. Moral and character superiority distinguish a Christian. Don’t show kindness only to those you feel deserve it (Matthew 5: 38- 48). This week, be sensitive! Put yourself in other people’s shoes and try to provide some comfort.

Get Back in the Game
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”
(Isaiah 60:1, NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Are you going through a tough time today? Are you sitting on the sidelines of life? God is saying, “Arise and get back in the game.” If a friend betrayed you, don’t go through life lonely. Go out and find some new friends. The right people are in your future. If you lost your job, don’t sit around complaining. Go out and find another job. When one door closes, God will always open another door. If you’re facing a health issue, fighting that sickness, don’t give up on life and start planning your funeral. Arise from that discouragement!

When God sees you do your part, He will do His part. He will give you a new life. That means He will restore your health, give you new opportunities, new relationships. He will give you a new perspective. You will see that even though it’s painful, it is not the end. Even though it was unfair, it is not over. There is still life after the sickness, life after the divorce, life after the bad break. A full life is still in front of you. Today, arise and let God’s glory shine all over you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy on my life. I choose to rise and put my trust in You. I choose to get back in the game. Thank You, Lord, for accomplishing Your purposes in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Someone Has Their Eye on You

Friday, 20 September 2013

There's a young lady in Scripture by the name of Ruth. Ruth went through a great disappointment. Her husband was killed in a battle, and the future didn't look very bright for her. She moved to a new city with her mother-in-law, Naomi. But instead of sitting around saying, "Poor old me" in self-pity, Ruth reached out and helped take care of Naomi. Not only that, she got up every morning very early and went out into the fields and gathered up the leftover wheat that the reapers had missed.

One day, the owner of that field noticed Ruth. His name was Boaz. He noticed how beautiful she was and what a hard worker she was. What's interesting is that Ruth didn't know anybody was watching her. She didn't even know who Boaz was. She just kept working hard, doing her best, and caring for Naomi.

The point to think about today is that even though you may not realize it, somebody has their eyes on you. A supervisor is noticing your excellence. A manager is noticing your character. A friend is noticing your faithfulness. If you are single, you may think there is nobody to meet, but you don't know who God is about to bring into your life. You don't know who has their eyes on you.

Long story short, Ruth and Boaz fell in love and ended up getting married. Ruth no longer had to work in the field—she owned the field! Like Ruth you may have gone through a difficult time, but let me tell you, God has another Boaz out there. God has already lined up somebody to notice you, somebody to befriend you, somebody to promote you, somebody to make your life more fulfilled. That disappointment was not the end. It's a new beginning. It may have been a setback, but God has already lined up the right people to help you come back. Trust and believe that God has His best in store. He has the opportunities lined up; He has good breaks and favor in store for your future. He has the right people in the right positions ready to give you a hand up. Always remember that someone has their eye on you!

"…She asked him, 'Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me—a foreigner?' Boaz replied, 'I've been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.'" (Ruth 2:10-12, NIV)

Prayer to break soul ties

Thursday, 19 September 2013
Heavenly Father, I confess and repent of the sin of ___________ (name the sin which caused the evil soul tie, such as adultery or fornication), and I ask that you forgive me of this sin.

[Now is a good time to destroy or get rid of any physical gifts or other objects that could hold the soul tie together, such as a gift given in an adultery, etc. Anything that could hold the bond together between you and that person.]

In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I now renounce, break and sever all unholy soul ties formed between ___________ (name the person) and myself, through the sin of ____________ (name the sin which caused the evil soul tie, such as adultery or fornication).

I now command any evil spirits which have taken advantage of this unholy soul tie to leave me now in the name of Jesus!

(Repeat this prayer if you have more then one evil soul tie to break)

Beyond Begging

Wednesday, 18 September 2013

In the Scripture, there was a lady who came to Jesus and started begging Him to heal her daughter. She said, "Please, Jesus, my daughter is so bad. Would You please? I'm begging You to heal her."

Jesus was normally so compassionate. Throughout the Scripture, He went around healing everyone. A blind man said, "Jesus, have mercy," and He went over and healed him. A soldier came up and said, "My daughter is sick. Will you come to my house?" Jesus went out of His way again and again to heal so many different people. But what's interesting is that Jesus practically ignored this lady who was begging. He didn't give her the time of day.

After a while, she realized begging wasn't going to do her any good. The Scripture says, "She fell at Jesus' feet and started worshipping Him, started thanking Him, started giving Him praise."

All of the sudden, Jesus stopped what He was doing, looked at the woman and said, "Your daughter is perfectly well. You can go home. Everything is okay."

Today, know that what begging won't do, praise will. Don't be a beggar. Instead, be a believer. When you pray, switch over into praise which is what opens the door for God to act. Don't get stuck year after year begging, "God, please heal me. God, please give me that promotion. God, I'm just begging You." No, instead; all through the day say, "Father, thank You that I'm healthy. Thank You that my business is blessed. Thank You that promotion is coming." Get beyond begging and get into praising and watch His hand of blessing on every area of your life!

"Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!" (1 Chronicles 16:8, NKJV)

A Shift into Greater Blessing

Monday, 16 September 2013

Genesis 48 talks about when Jacob was an old man and very close to death. His son, Joseph, came to visit him and say his goodbyes. Joseph and his father were very close. In fact, Joseph was Jacob's favorite child, the youngest, whom he had given the multi-colored coat many years prior. At one point, Jacob thought Joseph was dead and lived very sadly until he found out that Joseph was indeed alive and living in Egypt. They reunited and here Jacob was at the end of his life.

Joseph was standing before his father along with his own two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. They were, of course, Jacob's grandsons and Jacob said, "Joseph, I'm going to bless your sons as if they were my own children."

In those days, a blessing proclaimed with the right hand was always the greatest. It belonged traditionally to the firstborn son. So Joseph put his oldest son, Manasseh, in front of Jacob's right hand and his younger son, Ephraim, in front of his left. Jacob was nearly blind. He couldn't see. When he went to give the blessing, Jacob crossed his hands and put his right hand on the younger son, Ephraim, and his left hand on Manasseh, the older son.

Joseph said, "No, Dad. You can't see. I had them lined up. I put Manasseh in front of your right hand. He deserves it. Give him the greater blessing."

Jacob said something very interesting that gives us insight into our God. He said, "No, Joseph. I've crossed my hands on purpose. Ephraim may have come second, he may have been in the back, he doesn't deserve it, didn't qualify for it, he's not next in line, but I'm shifting him to a new position. I'm taking him from the back to the front. I'm going to give him what he doesn't deserve."

Friend, that's the way our God is. He has shifts in your future that will put you in a position that you didn't earn. Just like with Ephraim, God is going to cross His hands and say, "I'm going to move them from the back to the front; from being unqualified to being suddenly qualified; from being looked down on or disrespected to being esteemed and respected."

God is saying to you what Jacob said to Ephraim, "I'm going to bless you on purpose. I'm going to move you up. I'm going to accelerate your dreams. I'm going to give you what you didn't deserve. I'm going to shift you into a position that you could have never gotten to on your own." Now, get ready for it. Stay in faith, stay in the Word, obey His commands and stay faithful because God is going to shift you into a place of greater blessing!

He Remembers You

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive.”
(Genesis 30:22, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Our God is so loving, so merciful, so faithful. Even when we become too discouraged to believe, God does not forget what He promised. Maybe you feel discouraged today. Maybe your life hasn’t turned out the way you had hoped. Maybe you prayed, believed and worked hard, and it didn’t work out. Now you’re thinking, “Hey, I’m never going to be happy again. I’ll never be married. I’ll never accomplish my dreams.”

Remember today, not only does God remember you, He remembers the promise He placed within you. He knows what He’s destined you to do. You may have already said, “Forget it; it’s never going to happen.” The good news is that you don’t have the final say. God has the final say, and He says, “What I started in your life, I’m going to finish.” That dream you gave up on, God didn’t give up on. He remembers you, and He is with you, leading you and guiding you to the place of victory.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness even when I am unfaithful. Thank You for drawing me close to You when I feel discouraged. Today, I choose to lift up my eyes to You for You are my source of strength and help. You are the Author and Finisher of my faith in Jesus’ name. Amen

Stay the Course

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ ”
(Isaiah 30:21, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God has put a promise inside each and every one of us. Oftentimes, we have to go through the wilderness before we reach our promised land. Oftentimes, like Joseph, we feel like we are in a pit long before we ever see the palace. Maybe you’re in a season right now where you don’t see anything happening. You think, “I’ve been praying and believing for a year, five years, ten years. It’s never going to work out.”

No, be encouraged today. Stay the course. Keep believing. You may be tired, discouraged and tempted to be frustrated, but don’t give up on your future. Stay on the high road. Our God is a faithful God. It may be taking a long time, but what He started He will finish in your life. Scripture says the eyes of the Lord search to and fro to find someone who will be faithful on His behalf. Be the person He finds faithful. Keep believing, keep praying, keep obeying and stay the course because He is leading you in the path of victory!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for leading and guiding me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. I choose to trust even when I don’t understand. I choose to believe that You are working behind the scenes for my good. I will stay the course knowing that You have blessing and victory in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen

STAY ALERT - EVERYTHING IS ABOUT TO WRAP UP...

Monday, 9 September 2013

"Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. STAY WIDE-AWAKE IN PRAYER.

MOST OF ALL, LOVE EACH OTHER as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything.

Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully.

Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help.

That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and HE'LL GET ALL THE CREDIT as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. - 1 Peter 4:11 [MSG]

The Completion Date is Set

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 1:6, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God will always finish what He started. The moment God placed a dream in your heart, the moment that promise took root, God not only started something in your life but He also set a completion date. Scripture tells us that God is called the Author and the Finisher of our faith. God wouldn’t have given you the dream; the promise wouldn’t have come alive if God didn’t already have a plan to bring it to pass.

It doesn’t matter how long it’s been or how impossible it looks. Your mind may tell you that it’s too late. You’ve missed too many opportunities. It’s never going to happen. No, God is saying, “It’s not over. I have the final say. I’ve already set the completion date.” So if you will stay in faith and not talk yourself out of it, it will just be a matter of time before it comes to pass!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for completing what You’ve started in my life. I choose to trust You. I choose to wait on You. I put my faith in You knowing that through faith and patience every promise will come to pass in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Always Rise to the Top

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man...”
(Genesis 39:2, KJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

In scripture, many heroes of the faith started out at the very bottom. Think of Joseph. He was thrown in a pit and sold into slavery by his own brothers. But even as a slave, he developed his skills. He was so valuable that he was put in charge of his master’s whole household.

When he was falsely accused and put into prison, he was so valuable there that they put him in charge of the whole prison. What is that? Cream rising to the top. When Pharaoh needed someone to run the country and administer the nationwide feeding program during the famine, he didn’t choose a cabinet member; he didn’t choose his department head. He chose Joseph, a prisoner, a slave. Why? Joseph developed his skills right where he was. His gifts made room for him, and he was always rising to the top.

Friend, there’s never an excuse to not keep rising. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like your current job; it doesn’t matter if other people don’t treat you right. God is saying, “It’s time to get out of the pit.” It’s time to shake off the past. It’s time to rise to the top!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for the gifts and talents that are within me. I choose today to have an excellent spirit. I choose to shake off the old; I choose to forgive. I take my eyes off of my circumstances and lift my eyes to You knowing that You are the one who lifts me up in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Four Horsemen and the Four Faces of God

Thursday, 5 September 2013

The Four Horsemen and the Four Faces of God
“The primary weapon of the enemy is the weapon of force. But the enemy has been disarmed from that weapon since the Bible says that Christ has removed the handwriting of requirements which is the law by nailing it to the cross, and having disarmed principalities and powers, he made a spectacle of them openly. The devil has lost his primary weapon, but he still uses his secondary weapon which is the weapon of fear. He has lost his teeth, but he has not lost his roar. A lion with teeth does not need to go around roaring at its prey. It simply goes in for the kill. If one is able to overcome the roar, one is rendered undevourable. Being untouchable by both force and fear makes one truly invincible. Remember that all physical force can only happen when metaphysical force is successful. If one’s metaphysical force is strong enough to repel all other metaphysical forces, the enemy can’t even get through with physical force. When one is able to use force, one does not need to use fear. Force is a higher weapon than fear. But what is even higher than force is the weapon of deception. Deception is not really a weapon but yet it can be considered the only true weapon. Lack of awareness is what enables the enemy to use force and fear effectively on you.
The devil’s four weapons and their order are represented by the four horsemen in the Bible. The white horse represents deception of false doctrine. The red horse represents force of warfare and violence. The black horse represents fear, lack and limitation. The pale horse represents death, sickness and destruction. The answer to the four horsemen is the four faces of Jesus or God. The face of the lion repels the white horse by the fire of truth against lies and ignorance. The face of the Man represents Man’s supreme place as master of the universe, master of the forces, creator and sovereign authority of his reality. It neutralizes and counters the red horse with its awareness and ultimate metaphysical force. The face of the ox represents strength, fearlessness and stability. God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. Strength is power, love is the opposite of fear and stability is a sound mind. The face of the eagle represents having a divine perspective of the life of God that negates all forms of death and sicknesses, loss and even destruction. In the path of the righteous, there is no death. Death is the final enemy to be destroyed because death is the lingering effect.
The devil’s first weapon is deception, followed by the rest. The first weapon must work before the other weapons can work. If one overcomes at the first level, one overcomes at all levels. This is why awareness is the key, and intelligence is the most important thing in the universe. Awareness is power, and if you have full awareness, you are omnipotent. Where there are no weak spots, the enemy is always trying to create a weak spot from time to time. That is why you have to remain aware of when you are weaker in any of the areas whether it is force, fear or death/disease/loss.
Each time the enemy attempts to weaken you in an area, it is an opportunity for you to strengthen yourself in that area. The enemy is taking a big gamble against you where they usually have a higher probability of winning, but if you win, they lose big. Of course in the overall, the odds are greatly stacked against them where they would ultimately lose to you, but they still have a chance of winning, which is the reason why they even fight in the first place. Therefore their strategy tends to target the masses where they would be able to amass many small victories, and to target the powerful ones less. That is why awareness a defense.
The Bible says that knowledge is a defense. The more aware you are, the more you are usually left in peace. And if the enemy decides to attack, it is a situation where you can gain a lot if you win, and cause them to lose a lot on the overall as well. Be sober and vigilant. Cast your cares upon the Lord to overcome the weapon of fear. Be aware of the truth in all areas of force, fear and death. This puts you above all weapons and makes you a force not to be trifled with. Your weapons and defenses are superior, and you don’t even have to fight because you are not in conflict with yourself. You have become one pointed and complete. This is all power, all freedom and all abundance.”

Sharpen Your Skills

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work...”
(Exodus 35:35, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

It’s easy to fall into “destination disease.” That’s when you’re comfortable where you are. You’re not stretching, not learning anything new. There is nothing wrong with being happy where you are, but you have to remember, you have so much more inside of you. You were created to increase, to grow, to stretch and sharpen your skills.

Studies tell us that the average person only uses 11% of their brain. Think about how much more potential we all could be tapping into. Maybe you’re an accountant. That’s good, but don’t settle there. Why don’t you go get your CPA license? There’s a new skill you can develop. That gift will make more room for you. Maybe you’re an electrician, a mechanic, a plumber. That’s great, but what steps are you taking to improve? I believe in this day and age, if you are at the same skill level today as you were five years ago, you’re at a disadvantage.

Today, shake out of that “destination disease” and start sharpening your skills. Keep stretching, keep growing and keep moving forward into the life of blessing God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for every good and perfect gift that You have given me. I choose to honor You with every gift and every talent. Show me how to sharpen my skills in a way that always brings glory and honor to You in Jesus’ name. Amen
